Vintage bikes in Durrow

This weekend, we enjoyed an overnight stay in Durrow, County Laois. The town was hosting a Scarecrow Festival (which, I should probably add, wasn’t the reason for our visit) and was very busy with visitors.

I rather liked the idea of this wicker-covered bike, although I’m not entirely sure how good it would be to ride.

Also in Durrow, in the rooms above Bob’s Bar (an institution in it’s own right), is the museum of the Durrow High Nelly Club. I say ‘museum’, but it should probably be called the ‘showroom’, because these bikes are regularly ridden by the club members.

There must be at least two dozen different vintage bikes.
