Irish Times Cycling Page

The Irish Times have launched their own Cycling Page on their website, which brings together their cycling related stories.

Most of the current stories seem to be about criticising cyclists for bad behaviour, such as running red lights or cycling on the pavement. And while I’m not a fan of any road user (cyclist or motorist) ignoring the rules of the road, it certainly doesn’t help to single out one group for criticism.

I’m hoping the Irish Times displays a little more balance in future, and perhaps write about cycling culture from a rider’s point of view. After all, you would have thought that the key audience for a cycling section of a website are existing cyclists!
