Bike Week 2015

It’s National Bike Week 2015 this week – 13th-21st June – with events happening in Dublin and all over the country.

Of particular note are the:

  • Lunchtime City Cycle on Wednesday, starting at the Grand Canal Dock. This is a gentle 5km cycle through the city centre, with the emphasis more on style than speed. I’ve done this in previous years, and there’s a great atmosphere amongst the hundreds of riders.
  • Pedal in the Park on Saturday, in the Phoenix Park, is a very family friendly cycling event.
  • Cargo Bike Championships on Sunday, also in the Phoenix Park, where members of the ever-growing community of cargo bike owners will race against each other. Don’t worry if you don’t own a cargo bike yourself – as they’ll be an opportunity to try one out.
