I took delivery of my WorkCycles Azor Opafiets (grandpa bike) this weekend, a traditional-style Dutch city bike.

WorkCycles are an Amsterdam-based company that distribute and make modern versions of traditional Dutch city bikes, together with transportation and cargo bikes. The bikes have hand-built frames and use the best components to make study bikes that will last.

How to keep your bike secure at work

My office has a bike cage in the underground car park, and this week it was broken into and a number of bikes were stolen.

Apparently there’s been quite a few bike thefts from office car parks in recent times. They offer rich pickings, what with all those employees that have expensive bikes bought through the Cycle to Work scheme – and the thieves can operate relatively undisturbed during the working day.

Vital Fixies are a Dublin based company that specialises in selling fixie bikes.

I’m not really a fixie rider myself – I prefer a nice selection of gears when it comes to climbing hills – but I do love the vibrant colours and simplistic styling on these bikes. I wonder why you don’t see geared bikes styled in the same way.
